Canadian arrest warrant issued for Georgia drug suspect

An arrest warrant has been issued for a Georgia man facing a number of drug charges in the eastern Canadian province of New Brunswick.

Robert Stephen Marsicano, 35, was to go on trial in the town of Woodstock on Thursday on six charges, but didnt show up. His hometown in Georgia was not immediately available.

He was among several people nabbed at the Woodstock border crossing this summer after taking a wrong turn.

Marsicano was headed to a concert in northern Maine by the band Phish but mistakenly ended up at the border.

A vehicle search allegedly turned up large quantities of cocaine, LSD, ecstasy, magic mushrooms, marijuana and hashish.

Authorities intended to seek an adjournment of the trial but the warrant was issued when Marsicano didnt appear. The $750 bail he posted at his original court appearance was ordered forfeited.
